UTRs are result-based & are calculated using the last 30 matches within the last 12 months. The main factors taken into account are percentage of games won and opponent’s rating. A rating is calculated for the player for every match they play and their final rating is a weighted average of all the eligible matches.
Our rating system takes the last 30 matches within the last 12 months into account to calculate the ratings. That makes it hard to sometimes predict exactly how a player’s rating will move after a few matches because as new results come in, older results fall off the equation. So if a player has three great results added to the equation, but three older results that were equally good or better fall out of the equation at the same time then the player’s rating will stay the same or maybe even drop slightly. Moreover, since ratings are recalculated every day, a player's rating can also change based on changes in the ratings of their recent opponents.
The ratings are automatically generated by a computerized algorithm and cannot be altered manually under any circumstances. However, we can add or edit any incorrect / missing scores on your record which may impact your rating.
Since ratings are calculated based on the current ratings of the opponents, it can change based on changes in the ratings of the last 30 opponents. Ratings can also change due to older matches falling off the equation.
Scores are added to the system on a weekly basis generally within a few days of the completion of the event. Please send us an email at email@example.com if you have played in a UTR eligible event and don’t see the scores after 7 days of the end of the tournament.
